This is the BIOS release v6.0-0 Build 2329 for the Adaptec SATA II RAID 1420SA Controller. This BIOS should only be used together with Driver v1.5.11987 in Windows Server 2008. This self-extracting archive includes the flash utility, the BIOS image file and the Release Notes. Caution: For the 1420SA it is very important to follow these update instructions: If doing an upgrade from BIOS 201x to BIOS 2329 and from driver 1.1.xxxx to 1.5.11987 the update must be performed driver first, then the BIOS and last the Adaptec Storage Manager utility. If doing an upgrade from BIOS 110x to BIOS 2329 and from driver 9.0.xxxx to 1.5.11987 a backup of all data on RAID arrays, JBODs or simple volumes must be performed first. Then perform the updates, reconfigure the container and restore the data from the backup. Installation Instruction: This file is self extracting and will unzip to the directory \adaptec\bios. Copy the expanded files to a floppy diskette. The expanded files can also be copied to a USB device or CD-R. Shut down the operating system and reboot to DOS from a bootable floppy disk, USB device or CD-R. Insert the media with the update files. Run the flash utility program named AFU.EXE included in this download to backup the current BIOS and flash the new BIOS image.
